About

Founded by director and producer Ella Danna, Willow Rose Studios is a Los Angeles–based production company dedicated to stories that paint the human experience.

Our philosophy is rooted in the belief that cinema is not only about spectacle but about presence, truth, and connection. We create work that balances precise visual craft with human honesty. From magical realism, to psychological thrillers, to dark comedy, our films explore the moments where imagination meets the vulnerable.

Based in both Los Angeles and New York, Willow Rose Studios collaborates with filmmakers to bring visionary stories to life, from script development through festival premieres, while also offering creative and producing consulting for fellow storytellers.

Meet Ella

Ella Danna is a director and producer based in Los Angeles and the founder of Willow Rose Studios, a production company dedicated to bold, imaginative, and emotionally resonant storytelling.

She graduated with honors from Fairfield University with a double major in Film, Television & Media and Italian Language, and earned her MFA from the American Film Institute Conservatory.

As a director, her short La Suona della Città won “Best Sound” at Cinefest Festival (2019). She is currently in post-production on: Luce nella Foresta, an Italian fantasy, and HEAT, a psychological thriller set in a sauna. 

As a producer, Ella’s debut feature A Ramble Towards Rain premiered at the Queens World Film Festival (2024) and her AFI thesis short Paper Boy, a magical-realist proof of concept, is expanding into a feature.

Through Willow Rose Studios, Ella develops and collaborates on projects that span short films, features, and series, with a focus on visually striking work that fuses precise craft with layered character psychology.
